Treat your home

The occurrence of fleas and ticks in your home has nothing to do with hygiene, but there are a number of things you can do to help prevent their presence:

• Vacuum your home at least once a week paying particular attention to armchairs, skirting boards, pets’ baskets, bedding and other areas they like to lie on such as carpets and soft furnishings. These should be treated with a suitable insecticide and vacuumed regularly.
• Machine-wash cushions, blankets and pets’ coats.
• Use an environment spray in the home and in the car if you transport pets.
